HOMEMEASURECLIMATE CHANGE

Let's learn about global warming.

Global warming is said to be caused by greenhouse gases such as CO2.
And then global warming is said to have adverse effects on plants, animals, and the global environment.

Let's reduce CO2 emissions.

What can we do to review our lives and reduce CO2 emissions?
First, let's start with what we can do among the four initiatives listed below.
(Figures revised in April 2007)

Set the cooling temperature 1℃ higher and the heating temperature 1℃ lower

Use curtains to adjust the incidence of sunlight, and adopt the "Cool Biz" and "Warm Biz" programs to keep the air conditioning set at the right temperature.

  • Reduction of about 33 kg of CO2 per year
  • Saves about 1800 yen per year

Stop driving 8km round trip two days a week.

Use buses, trains, and bicycles for commuting and shopping.
Walking or biking is better for the health.

  • Reduction of about 184 kg of CO2 per year
  • Saves about 9200 yen per year

Stop idling for 5 minutes a day.

When parking or stopping for long periods of time, turn off the car engine.
It also contributes to the reduction of air pollutant emissions.

  • Reduction of about 39 kg of CO2 per year
  • Saves about 1900 yen per year

Reduce standby power by 50%.

Turn off the main power supply. If you are not going to use it for a long time, unplug it.
When replacing home appliances, try to choose ones with low standby power.

  • Reduction of about 60 kg of CO2 per year
  • Saves about 3400 yen per year

JCCCA (Japan Center for Climate Change Actions)

Currently, the Ministry of the Environment is promoting a campaign to reduce CO2 emissions by 1 kg per person per day.
※It is said that each person emits 6 kg of CO2 per day.

How do we procure the emission allowances (CO2 reduction allowances) that you are currently using? What type?

Procurement

We procure it from ADVANTEC CO., LTD., which is a participant in the "Anshin Provider System" operated by JCCCA established within the Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center, an affiliated organization of the Ministry of the Environment.

Type

We use "Certified Emission Reductions".

※In accordance with the rules of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), which is a mechanism for providing technical and financial assistance to developing countries to combat global warming as determined by the Kyoto Protocol, the reduction amount issued by the United Nations that has passed the strict examination by the United Nations based on the amount of greenhouse gas reduction is called "Certified Emission Reduction (CER)".

What is the way to know the management status of CO2 emission quota (reduction quota)?

The amount of CO2 emissions reduced by your contribution will be disclosed on this website in a timely manner. In addition, CERs will be replenished and transferred to the Japanese government's amortization account in a timely manner while monitoring sales trends. CERs that have been invalidated by the transfer will not be used again.

The CER information used in the sale to date is as follows

  • Projects: 7.5MW wind farm of REI Agro Ltd at Soda village in the state Rajasthan, India
  • Country: India
  • Outline: Wind power generation business in Rajasthan, India
  • UN Project Number: 0564 Detail: Project 0564
  • Disable Method:Japanese government write-off account transfers
